About Numeromancy.com

The term numeromancy comes from Latin numerō (numerus, “number”) +‎ -mancy from Ancient Greek μαντεία (manteía, “divination”, “prophecy”, “fortune-telling”).

Numeromancy.com uses the Agrippan system to assign numerical value to the letters of the English alphabet and then, the numbers are reduced until a single digit is obtained.

The Agrippan system is influenced by the Greek Philosopher, Pythagoras, who paved the ground work for what is known today as Western Numerology, which is the study of the mystical relationship between the letters of words, represented by numbers, and the character or action of physical objects and living things.

Pythagoras discovered the numerical relationship between numbers and musical notes. He found that the sound vibrations in stringed instruments could be mathematically explained and believed that numbers were the basis of the entire universe, which ran on numerical harmony.

Numeromancy is synonym with arithmomancy/arithmancy/arithomancy, from Ancient Greek ἀριθμός (arithmós, “number”) +‎ -mancy (manteía, “divination”).
